The Kuntz Environmental Education Center is open and free for use by camp guests during camp office hours. It includes a wet-lab area with live resident animals, audio visual area, library, and observation room with hands-on exhibits. There is also a rehabilitated prairie area/butterfly garden adjacent to the center. Naturalist programs can be arranged upon request. Programs can include hikes, crafts, environmental games, pond study, orienteering, tree identification, animal programs, and more! Our staff will design a program to suit your group’s needs, from one hour to a full day to overnight events. Suitable for any ages; church groups, scouts, and school groups welcome.

Pine Lake’s main beach is available to our overnight guests all year round. In summer, sand toys, sailboats, paddleboats, canoes and rowboats are available free for guest use.

In Fall and Spring, canoes and rowboats remain on our shore for fair weather use. Fishing is permitted; bring your own gear, bait, and license.

In winter, ice skates are available to borrow from Amphlett Hall. Ice fishing is permitted away from designated skating area.

Pine Lake has three well marked trails that show different features of our 400-acre property, suitable for hiking, walking, trail-running, snowshoeing and seasonal cross-country skiing.

Of our trails, the blue trail is the shortest as it travels relatively close around the lake. The orange trail is the next longest and widest trail that is great for cross-country skiing and trail running. The yellow trail is our longest trail that winds around camp through the woods and shows off multiple ecosystems that make up the Pine Lake property.

Near Amphlett Dining Hall and the main beach are a variety of recreational areas and sports equipment for all ages. A large playground, sand volleyball court, basketball court and a horseshoe pit are all within viewing distance of the beach.

A field area by Oakwood field has small soccer goals, a GaGa ball pit and a mud pit for group activities. Pine Lake owns a multitude of sports equipment including portable soccer nets, frisbees, baseball bats and balls, bases, game cones, volleyballs, basketballs, an indoor bowling set, two parachutes, rubber bouncy balls, hula hoops, and more. Just ask and we will be happy to loan any equipment free of charge!

Archery offers the opportunity for campers to learn a new skill, while developing patience and discipline. Trained Pine Lake Camp staff will operate the archery range and give instruction to help all campers be successful. A counselor or adult must be present with any youth participating. Archery sessions can be scheduled in advance with Pine Lake Camp staff.
